Quercetin is a naturally ingredient with fine bioactivity, which mainly exists in the form of glycoside in fruits, vegetables, tea, and wine and good for health. Quercetin is a dietary polyphenol. Compared with chemical preparations, it is widely available, safe and easy to get.  Quercetin has been widely studied for its anti-diabetes, anti-hypertension, anti-Alzheimer's disease, anti-arthritis, anti-influenza virus, anti-microbial infection, anti-aging, effects on autophagy and cardiovascular protection.

The beneficial effects of quercetin are not limited to antioxidation and cancer suppression. Studies have shown that quercetin has the potential to other diseases, such as influenza virus prevention and treatmen. It also effectively improves the oxidative stress caused by influenza virus infection and strongly binds to the Spike protein (S) receptor of the virus, which is a worthy natural antiviral compound.

1. Anti-diabetes and its comlications

Quercetin has been shown on many studies to be a promising target drug for the treatment of diabetes and its complications.

2. Anti-arthritis

Quercetin is a promising natural compound for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. Studies showed that use quercetin alone can reduced joint inflammation better than methotrexate or methotrexate combination.

3. Anti-influenza virus

Despite improved development of traditional antiviral drugs, their effectiveness against influenza viruses is limited, and frequent mutations in the structure of the influenza virus genome have led to a dramatic increase in resistance to these standard drugs. Therefore, Quercetin as natural alternatives to synthetic drugs, natural plant drugs are potentially new antiviral drugs due to safety and lower side effects

4. Anti-Liver disease

Quercetin has also been shown to reduce liver damage and increase serum levels of triglycerides, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST)

5. Anti-Cancer

Quercetin affects almost all processes involved in the pathogenesis of cancer and has the ability to affect the growth and activity of cancer cells. It can be used as a regulator to prevent, inhibit or reverse carcinogenesis, induce cell apoptosis, inhibit proliferation, and prevent the migration and invasion of cancer cells. Therefore, it can be used for the prevention of various cancers.  Quercetin is considered as an important potential drug for the treatment of various cancers. Its beneficial effects are not limited to directly inhibiting cancer, but can also enhance the efficacy of common therapeutic drugs, thereby indirectly inhibiting cancer progression.

However, the bioavailability of quercetin is poor at present. If the bioactivity of quercetin can be enhanced, better therapeutic effect will be achieved.
